Dowsing
for Colours
If
you wish to find your colour preferences, imbalances and needs in a
more intuitive way, you might prefer to dowse for them using a pendulum.
This will help you to bypass your conscious mind, which is constantly
censoring impulses that are coming in from a deeper, subconscious level.

- You can make
a pendulum out of a button or some sort of small weighted object,
such as a natural quartz crystal. Suspend this object on a short length
of chain or thin string about 6 inches (15cm) in length.
- Draw a circle
on a piece of paper. Divide it into eight equal segments. Colour each
of the segments as follows, starting at the top of the circle and
workign clockwise; red, orange, yellow, green, turquoise, blue, indigo,
violet.
- Hold a pendulum
out in front of you and try to calm and clear your mind of any particular
thoughts.
- Hold the pendulum
directly above the center of your colour circle.
- First, you need
to determine which way your pendulum will swing for you. To do this,
"ask" the pendulum (aloud or silently) which way it will
swing for a "yes" answer. Note the direction. Next find
out the direction for a "no" response, and then for "unsure,
try again." (If it does not swing on its own, start it moving
and the pendulum will correct itself if this is the wrong direction.)
These directions will remain constant for you, no matter what questions
you then ask.
- Hold the pendulum
over a particular colour. Decide which colour you wish to find first
(for example, the colour for relaxation).
- Ask the question.
You need to be specific and clear about what you are asking, and frame
your question so that you get a "yes" or "no"
answer. For instance, you may say "Is this the best colour for
relaxation?" Note the direction of the swing. Keep repeating
this process around the circle until you find that the pendulum swings
in the "yes" direction. If in doubt about an answer, repeat
the question until the response is clear.
- You can further
ask the pendulum whether you need a light or dark version of the colour,
or the pure rainbow hue itself.
