HH Halloween Campfire – A Great Success!

Description:
Picture: 2 of 4

What better time of year for a ghostly organization such as ourselves to get together than Halloween! We here at Haunted Hamilton realized that it was time to have our first annual
Halloween gathering. Although our event at Westfield Heritage Village fell through, we still wanted to do something for our members who showed a great interest in the evening. So with that in mind, we planned a spooktacular night that somewhat resembled the movie “The Blair Witch Project.”

Most of us met at the front gate of Valens Conservation Area perplexed at how we were going to get in because the staff at Valens weren’t there to let us in like they said they would be! No problems though… thanks to Seamus and Lisa, most of us all got in and passed the gates safely! ;)

Once in the park, we found the most perfect spot to have our campfire. It was a secluded spot at the back of the group area, surrounded by a wooded forest. We all pitched in and began to set things up, and in no time, the fire was crackling and the mood was set.

We feasted on marshmallows and hot dogs, and I even noticed that at the end of the night my pumpkin cookies were all gone! I’m glad someone liked them! - Thank you Pillsbury ;)

We began the ghost stories by discussing and reading the Dundurn Castle hauntings, then moving on to listen to the “Baldoon Mystery.” It wasn’t until the end when things became creepy. Many of us felt an odd feeling, as though we were being watched. Needless to say, we all had a wonderful night, and it was great to finally put faces to some of the names that we’ve been seeing on the message board!

We can't wait until our next campfire event! Keep an eye out on the site and message board!
