Ghost Walk Proposal...

"Hello Stephanie,

I just wanted to let you know that everything went off without a hitch despite a few tense moments for myself on Friday and she said "Yes!". Catherine was terrific and I really liked how she was able to incorporate it into the tour. It was better than I had imagined and something that impressed Jodi so much. I would just like to thank you so much for all of your help with this. It was a night both of will remember forever and I just wanted you to know that we appreciate the part you and Catherine played in it.

I just wanted to say I am not a person who just writes random e-mails to events so this kinda means something. We just did your Hermitage Ghost Walk in Ancaster with James (May 27, 2006). I kinda did not want to go because I thought it would be boring. My wife and a few friends made me go and I am very glad I did. The walk with James was great! His story telling and facts were very graphic and interesting. I now believe I will be going on more of these walks as long as James is our guide. Keep up the good work James and the HH crew.

"Dear Daniel and Stephanie,

I attended the ghost walk at the Hermitage Ruins last night, July 30, 2005. I wanted to write to say what a wonderful job everyone did. Myself and three friends were visiting from Windsor, Ontario and were not sure what to expect and we were all pleased and talked for hours afterwards about our experience. I wanted to write because I felt that there were some in our group who did not appreciate the wonderful job that George, our guide, did.

I thanked him in person but wanted to let you both know, and possibly pass it on to him, that he made our experience one we will never forget. None of us saw anything ghostly, just some bats and raccoons, but George was effective in giving us a clear history of the area and entertaining us in a way we did not expect. Again, thank you very much, we will definitely return for another of your walks. Please tell George to keep up the good work and good luck to all of you.

"Well i must say that we thoroughly enjoyed our ghost tour! Very well organized,and informative about the history and goings on in the Custom House. Our guide for the evening was absolutely fantastic. Our two teenage girls were blown away at being able to stand on top of the tunnel that got sealed up. We will definitely be attending more of your ghost walks!"

"My friends and I just went on one of your ghost walks on Saturday night (Oct. 16th). We had James as our guide. We all had a great time and enjoyed the evening. After the ghost walk ended we continued our evening losing track of the time discussing the ghost walk, as well as various ghost related ideas and events experienced by each of us at some point in our lives. "I just wanted to let you know how much my boyfriend and i enjoyed your Ghost Walk of Niagara-on-the-Lake. The tour guide Tresa was amazing she really got our tour group excited and scared. We also took a picture of one of the inns that is featured on the tour, the Oban Inn. We used a digital camera and looked at the picture immediately and found a glowing ball in the one of the windows of the second floor. Pretty scary! As soon as we get the pictures on to the computer we will e-mail them to you and maybe you will have a better understanding of what that glowing ball actually is. Once again thank you for an amazing tour."

"We just wanted to say that Ms Catherine did a wonderful job and was very patient with my husband who had just had foot surgery last week, she took the tour a bit slower, but covered everything. The rain did not detour any of the people that we had meet and we all enjoyed the atmosphere with the drizzle and mist (couldn't ask for a better night) We've included some pictures, the camera was kept dry no rain on the lens, took a few try's to get the flash to the right setting but can you explain the blue dots?? The one picture of the lodge in the top left window looks odd. I don't know about ghost pictures but it looks like someone there. We are going to try and do the Hamilton tour within the next month, we heard it was wonderful. Thank you for providing a great night for my family."

"Steph and Dan,

First off I want to thank you for a great event that you put on last night.

Last night I attended your wine and cheese ghost walk. When we were in the circle and in the middle of the everything I saw a vision of the Dark Lady. A few moments after seeing her, the gentleman fainted. From that moment on my heart and pulse were racing. My cousin and I were on James's tour and weird things kept happening all night long. The first thing that happened to me was in the first stop of the tour. I was leaning against the wall and door frame and I felt a hand run across my back and shoulder area, when I turned around there was no one there except another tour member. As we moved throughout the tour I got a feeling that we were not welcome. By the time we got to the second floor my pulse was in an almost aerobic state, I felt like I was going to be sick and there was a horrible taste in my mouth. These feelings lasted the total length of the tour.

When we got to the attic and where the Dark Lady's mantel is located my palms were sweaty (something that normally does not happen to me) and I knew that there was something or someone who did not want us in that room. We had some tour members who had devices that measured electric waves and every time that James mentioned the Dark Lady's name the machine would get louder. I was feeling pretty uncomfortable by this point and James asked the tour member to shut off the machine (as he admitted it was making him uncomfortable too). As we stood in the attic hearing the stories of the Dark Lady a burst of light came through the lights as if she was saying she was there. The exact same thing happened when we were in the basement. James had asked George and his tour if they experienced anything and they said no. James found that weird because the light in the basement that flashed was apparently connected to the ones on the other side of the door and they saw nothing.

I will say that this tour certainly gave me my moneys worth and a scare to boot. I still felt sick and had a terrible taste in my mouth until I got home. I understand that a staff member had a panic attack as well last night and I sincerely hope that she is well and feeling better today.
