Ruthven
Park, originally a country estate and farm owned by the
Thompson family, is approximately 1,500 acres and overlooks
the banks of the Grand River.
Explore
the Ghost Town of Indiana, a former industrial village that
was established in the late 1830's. Awaken all your senses
- you just may encounter something unexpected as you travel
along the historic lanes and dark pathways of the old grounds.
This
tour includes an Interior Mansion Tour as well as a visit
to two cemeteries on the grounds - The Thompson Family Cemetery,
and the recently unearthed 150 year old Irish Catholic cemetery.
This
event is family friendly! Please feel free to bring your
kids along, but be forewarned... you will be walking through
the dark woods at night. Please be advised that the general
atmosphere might be frightening for some young children.
Tickets can be purchased in cash the night of inside the
Coach House.
