Trying to Contact the Spirit in our Apartment

As you can see from the entries in our Ouija Diary, we hadn't attempted to use the board for quite some time now. It wasn't until something unusual began to happen in our apartment that we decided to invite our friends, HH's resident psychics Michele and Kate over for a Ouija session. To give you more of an idea as to why we were prompted to use the Ouija Board, we'll give you a breif introduction to the wierd events that were happening in our very own apartment.

We moved into our new apartment in May, and have felt extremely comfortable here ever since. It wasn't until just about a month ago when I personally began to sense some weird and negative vibes in the place. It wasn't throughout the entire apartment however. It was only present in the living and dining room area of the apartment. We have a long hallway that leads into the kitchen area with the living/dining room just past it. We have another long hallway that leads in the opposite direction of the apartment, to the washrooms, bedroom and office. I could only sense the negative vibes when I began to enter the kitchen area of the apartment. My heart would begin to pound really hard as if i could hear it pulsating in my ears. I always began to tremble too. I knew right away that we weren't alone, and that there was someone else in the apartment with us.

I'm a night-owl, and my hours spent awake are usually until 3 or 4 a.m. I think that is another reason why I sensed these feelings right away. It was generally only in the evening that this would occur. I knew i wasn't along when Dan began to sense the negative vibes too.

One of the most interesting things to point out is that our two cats, Kaymin and Angel, began to violently fight during this past months. They would fight around the same time every evening. Not just slaping eacother, but literally biting eachother's necks with rage, making the other scream and run away! Okay, you may be thinking that we have some ill-tempered cats, but the truth is that they are all around sweet cats. They are twins, and never, ever fight. They always sleep and cuddle together, wash eachother, and most important of all, never fight like that! So now you can see our concern rising.

Then, wierd things began to happen. One evening, Stephanie and Daniel were sitting on the couch watching T.V. They both got up to go to the kitchen, and when they arrived back in the living room and sat back on the couch, they noticed that one section of the clean, white carpet was covered with dirt! There was lots of it, and it was sitting atop the carpet, not embedded in the rug. I'm an indoor gardener, so I have some plants around the place that are potted in soil. They are, however, sitting up on high places and there was no dirt trailing from any of them. Further more, both of the cats were sleeping in the office at the time. We vacuumed it up and never really said much more about it after that.

Finally, late one evening, I went to the kitchen to get a drink of water. I couldn't help but notice that one of the pieces of my artificial greenery that sits inside an alcove which is just above the cabinetry, was removed and placed atop the fridge. There was no wind or breeze to cause the leaves to fall, as all the windows in the apartment were closed. The odd thing was that the greenery was placed exactly on the fridge just as it was in the alcove...some leaves draped slightly over the edge.

The negative vibes and feelings became more intense, so we decided to ask Michele and Kate over for a Ouija session to try and see what was going on.

Since this was our first gathering for a formal Ouija session, setting up turned out to be a bit of a struggle. We had a small discussion about which planchette would be best for this session, our large, light, plastic cheap one or Michele's home made, finely crafted, strong wooden one. Not much of a decision, but we still started with the cheap one since it belonged to the board. However, soon after seeing it get stuck on the side of the board a few times, our frustrations got the best of us and throwing caution to the wind, we decided to switch.

As the picture to the right shows, it's not easy switching planchettes when you have a rowdy spirit on your hands. Not wanting to lose the spirit, Kate and Michele left one hand each on the original planchette as they placed there other hand on Michele's. Just as they were to change, the planchettes took off and started a fast journey around the table and off the Ouija board. Kate and Michele were transformed into many twisted up shapes, each more intricate then the previous. It was truly amazing to see, as the speed and perfection of the movements were impossible for any human to control.

With all the preliminaries out of the way, we finally began the session. Please make note that the preliminaries included a prayer, spoken by Michele to make sure that we were all surrounded by three times the white light for protection, which included our apartment and even the cats. With any Ouija session, it is crucial that you take a few minutes before hand to protect your selves from negative energy; this includes kicking out any angry people in the group. Finally, loaded with IKEA cookies and chocolate, Michele and Kate started to connect with the spirit world.

Although this session seemed to begin on a fun note, the emotions surrounding our first spirit were very serious. While trying to contact the spirit that haunted our apartment, a different spirit toke control of the board. She was a young black woman who died in 1939 at the age of 20. When asked for her name, she spelled out LAYD (thought to be Lady). The small amount of facts gathered pointed to a few racist men who raped and murdered her through strangulation. This spirit made reference of being connected with Kate. Before we could get into more detail, Lady became tired with her communication and actually ended the session on her own. Michele commented on how this was the first time she had seen a spirit end a session before the person.

We soon returned to the task at hand, find information on the spirit of our apartment. Michele once again attempted to call upon this spirit and this time it would not fail as the planchette jumped to life. After some initial quick circling the spirit was asked it's name. He replied, ROBERT and told us that he is 34 years old. Turns out that he lived in our building only a few apartments over on the same floor. He pays particular attention to our apartment because of a fascination he has with Stephanie. Rob's exact words were, "BEAUTIFUL STEPHANIE". Talk about some odd feelings of jealously, but I was still extremely curious to know more.

Rob's last name was Quamoy, sounds odd but he said that it's Native American. He died in 1974 and when asked how, the planchette spelled out RAIN. After thinking it over for a seconds and coming up with no answers, we asked for more details. The planchette spelled out DROWNED. He drowned during a visit to his cottage in 1974. Details of why he drowned never came through as Rob started to demand for Stephanie to communicate with him. He wouldn't continue the session until Stephanie placed her hands on the planchette.

After exchanging hellos on the board and exactly at 11PM that evening, a struggle for control began. Rob seemed to lose control as another spirit came through wanting to be heard. It began spelling BIN LAUCMAU. The new and aggressive spirit seemed to be spelling Bin Laden as in terrorist Bin Laden. The rest of the movement spelled gibberish, and coupled with the late hour we made the decision to dismiss the spirit and end the session.
