Trapped Spirits
Hamilton, Ontario
by
Valerie Cooper

My family and I moved into a two-storey home on Dunsmuir Rd. When we first went to look at the place the man who was selling it told us he had moved his family out of the house about two
months before. The only thing he had in the house was an old mattress upstairs.

After my parents purchased the house my dad was in the bathroom, while my mother, sister and I were sitting in the dining room and and all of a sudden we heard a woman crying. The sounds seemed to be coming from everywhere. Neither of my
parents could come up with an explanation. We researched the history of the house and found a list of previous owners and discoverd that a couple had died while living there. A neighbor told my dad about the 2 occupants before us. One was a woman named Betty, who had died at a hospital from cancer. Apperantly
after his wife Betty died, Joe, the other occupant, was so upset that he came home had a heart attack in the livingroom and died.

About a month later, my sister woke up screaming at about 2:00 am. All three of us ran to her room to see what had her so upset. She said she had seen a man standing at the foot of her bed but
dissapeard. About five minutes later somthing grabbed her foot.

A while later me and some friends were playing hide and seek. After everybody had been found my friend Pat insisted that she had heard somebody run up to the attic. My sister backed her up saying she had heard it to.

About a year later my mother had her friend Helen over for lunch they were sitting in the living room when the chair Helen was sitting began to rock violently. My mother didn't want to say the house was haunted so she told her a train must be going by on the nearby railway tracks. About an hour later my mother was in the kitchen and saw a black apparition of a human shape it floated accross the kitchen into a doorway and out of site. Things seemed to quiet down after that. We moved out 2 years later.
