I bought my house on the Hamilton mountain 2 years ago this coming March. Nothing has really happened until this past month which is how I found your site. The things that went one made me interested in ghosts so I looked on the internet and found your page.

My girlfriend and I had started noticing that things were moved and/or misplaced around the house, one example is my cell phone winding up in our kitchen garbage. Now I assumed immediately that it was picked up in a pile of papers and thrown out, but this was not the case because my girlfriend had changed the bag before going to work that morning. Then that night when I looked for my phone and finally called the number I found it in the freshly changed garbage bin. Luckily the battery was good and the phone was on or it would have been gone for good. Also strange is the fact that the bin is near nothing like a table or shelf and it has a lid so the phone could not really have fallen into it.

Then, we started to get an odour in our living room last week only in the evening. It was a very strong garlic smell that turned to a burnt toast smell. I have an apartment downstairs for two students so I assumed that they were cooking, when I went downstairs to find out about the smell there was no-one home and there was not a smell at all. Stove was off, furnace off and all lights off so the odour was not from downstairs. When I returned upstairs I could still smell the burnt toast odour and I checked the floor vents, fireplace(I blew the pilot out a few weeks before) all turned up nothing. The smell came and went all in about 10 minutes and it was only about shoulder height. So it happened again later on that night and for the next few days. We started getting worried about it and wrote down the times and realized that it only happened at 7:30 and 8:30pm for about 5 nights and it was only in the one corner of our living room. Very strange.

Another incident happened when our dog, who will quietly bark when you stare at him, started doing this one night looking behind where my girlfriend was sleeping. She though someone was behind her and turned around, as soon as she did this, our dog stopped the barking. When she turned back around, he started again and both times appeared to be staring directly at someone but nothing was there?

Then just the other day I was in the back room playing guitar and my girlfriend came past our bathroom to talk to me then returned back to the kitchen to make herself something to eat. After about ten minutes, she yelled over to me to ask why I left the bathroom tap on, I said I didn’t and she came in and told me to listen, I could then hear the tap in the bathroom on full blast. She said she heard it while in the kitchen but thought it was me, when she still heard it and heard my guitar playing she then wondered what was going on. So she had already walked past the bathroom and nothing was on or anything earlier and now the tap was on full. We thought this was very weird.

Now here is the kicker, I was talking to my two students downstairs and the one guy lived there last year with us. He has a friend who’s Aunt and Uncle used to own the house years ago and were the ones who built most of the unit in the basement. Apparently they lived in the house for a long time. He mentioned this to me when he moved in last year. While I was talking to him this week he said that he forgot to tell me that his friends Aunt had just died last week. This really blew my mind. Now the only other incident that has occurred is the tap in the apartment downstairs being turned on by itself.

Other than that, nothing new has happened. Let me know what you thing of this. To be honest, I am not much of a believer but I am starting to think about things a little more...
