When I was 16 yrs old, I was dating a girl who lived in a townhouse survey in the Upper Wentworth and Mohawk area. There was a short cut to her place where Hy&Zels now stands. It was just a small little field with a path cut through it, from people walking on it. I used this short cut every time I went to her place. I can remember that some nights it was kind of chilly
walking through there, considering it was mid summer. But this one night it was the same old routine. I cut through the field, and as I was walking along the path I saw what I thought was an old man walking towards me.

As we approached each other, he being about 20 feet away, he stopped, shook his finger at me, then was gone... dissappeared. I then said out loud "I think I"ll be taking the long way around." So I did. Now not to long after I arrived at my girlfriends house, I was quick to tell her what had just happened. At that moment, we heard an large amount of sirens in the area. As it turns
out there was a fight in the school yard, which I'd also cut through because that was at the end of the path, and someone had been seriously hurt.

So I figure he, the old man, probably saved my life because I know by how many times I cut through there, just the whole timing of everything. I know something would have happened to me. Weird eh?
