The Crystal Tavern

During the summer of 1994 I worked as a waitress at a bar on Ottawa Street that was once called the Crystal Club, near Cannon Street.

One night while I was helping with closing duties, I bent down to unplug a machine and when I stood back up, saw a heavy-set woman, quietly sweeping the floor near the front entrance. She wore a dark, full length dress with the sleeves rolled up, a long apron tied around her waist and she had thick, shortish dark hair. I stood and watched while she swept the floor with a corn broom for probably a lot less time than it felt like. She was facing the doors, so I couldn't describe her face. Once I turned away though, she was gone and I never saw her again.

I have no idea who she was.The only other person in the bar was re-stocking the beer fridges and she certainly didn't resemble this big lady in a floor length dress! I'm curious about whether anyone else has seen her there before or since.
