Alberta Avenue
Toronto, Ontario
by
Olga

My first experience with ghosts (I guess you can call them that) started in my grandmothers old house on Alberta Avenue. My
aunt and grandparents have always felt that there was a spirit in the house, and I personally believe it was not a good one.

This may be very hard to believe but this is a true story. My
parents left us over my grandparents house one day because my aunt was going to babysit us. I was around 8 and my sister was about 6 or 7, and my aunt was around 14 or 15. So no one was home but us. We were bored so we decided to go downstairs in her basement and play with her toys.

The basement was very dark and cold. It was also thundering outside and they had one of those old kinda lights in the basement where you pull the chain to turn it off. Anyways as we were downstairs playing me and my sis felt a very cold and not very welcoming feeling. We told my aunt and she said it was nothing.

To prove to us that there was nothing to be worried about my aunt said out loud "if there is a ghost down here let the lights turn on and off"

All of the sudden the lights started flickering on and off! We got so scared that we ran upstairs and stayed there for about an hour. We were on the verge of tears, but my aunt kept insisting that it was just a coincidence and not to worry about it.

An hour later we decided to go back downstairs and play again. We were little and believed what my aunt said. So we thought nothing of what had happened earlier on. The rain had stopped but it was still kinda dark outside. We went downstairs but
this time we brought the radio with us, just to have a little noise. We were all down there for about 10 minutes when we started feeling weird again. We t
old me aunt, and she decided to open her mouth again, this time saying, "if theres a ghost in
this house let the music go on and off"

All of the sudden the music went on and off. We couldn't hold it in anymore we ran upstairs and started crying. There is a door to the basement, so we put the latch on and ran on the sofa and held eachother. My grandparents moved out of this house about five years ago and ever since then no one has seemed to live in it longer then a year or in some cases even 6 months. There is obviously a presence in this house that needs to be put to rest.
